Default Build PVP/PVE

Hi guys,

Would like to have your opinion on this build. I want to make a build that can be used both for PVP and PVE. My attributes are Expertise, Marks, WS (all on +/- the same attribute level).

1) Penetrating Attack
2) Distracting Shot
3) Savage Shot
4) Poison Arrow [E]
5) Throw Dirt
6) Whirling Defense
7) Troll Unguent
8) Storm Chaser

Are this good skills for both PVP/PVE? Should I change my elite?
Just tell me what needs changing in your opinion

My suggestion would to be to

Drop:

- penetrating shot
- one of your interrupt skills
- storm chaser.

And replace them with one of the following:

- a preparation? (RtW, Kindle?) -- carry one or two at max.
- a resurrection signet. (err on the side of caution with n00b pugs)
- a trap or crippling skill.

Why?

Because as you are, you're dishing out only plain base damage with the occasional bow attack mixed in.

A preparation would add significantly to your damage output to all your attacks.

A res signet is usually a good idea in general. A monk quickly res'ed is often the only difference between victory and defeat.

Crippling skills; though often not too damaging, deteriorate enemy formation..
AoE crippling traps such as Spike Trap [e], or barbed trap can stop the pursuit of heavy aggro to a monk or ally...

+edit: mispelled 'one'..

So, this would be much more effective?

1) Read the Wind
2) Distracting Shot
3) Savage Shot
4) Poison Arrow [E]
5) Throw Dirt
6) Pin Down
7) Whirling Defense
8) Troll Unguent

And then maybe add the signet too...

Hm..

1. savage or distracting.
2. poison arrow [e]
3. dual-shot with kindle -- pin down with rtw..
4. kindle or read the wind.
5. whirling defenses
6. throw dirt
7. troll unguent
8. res sig.

savage - provides better interrupt capability in that it recharges much more often than distracting.

poison - drop one of these every once and a while for situational degen.

> dualshot + kindle combo. - kindle's high damage bonus and dualshot's multiplier effect yield considerable damage.

> pin down + rtw combo. - your arrows fly straighter, faster. your pin downs and interrupts are much more effective with rtw's application. plus; rtw's affect is confined to the player who cast it, thus safeguarding against possible buffing of your opponents with the effect should you have chosen favorable winds.

whirling defenses - allows for emergency tanking should the moment occasion itself..

throw dirt - toss it the way of persons attacking allies with low hp or towards a group mobbing a single ally.. it has a splash blind effect..

troll unguent - 1 healer : 6+ party members to keep alive; do monkey a favor and reduce his healing burden..

res signet - ... for those times that life really throws you a curve ball.. (monk's get priority when resing allies)..
